Curacao North Sea Jazz 2015!

Curaçao North Sea Jazz festival (CNSJ) is one of the most exciting programs sponsored by the Fundashon Bon Intenshon that ties in perfectly with its objectives. The international level of the festival and all of its top-shelf artists attract tens of thousands of visitors to the island, annually.

The beautiful Island of Curacao has made sure that most of the island has the facilities to have about 15.000 people coming over to enjoy this wonderful festival yet again for another year. CNSJ this year was held for the 6th time.

This year Victuals was invited to come and not only enjoy the lovely music, but also the delicious dishes the food court had to offer.

You would need to know what the plan is, where is the food court and where will all the concerts be held. For that you would need the ground plan, and also your wristband and the photo badge. If you don’t have the last two (2) you would not be able to enter or make pictures (in the photo pit).

Ground Plan

I go ready! We first went from our Host Hotel, Acoya, to Hilton Hotel for an early dinner.

Enrique Iglesias… Not looking is impossible! One of the hardest things to do, if you are part of the press group, I leaving the photo pit and still wanting to come close enough to make a picture of the artists on stage.

Of course I was not allowed after leaving the pit, but I did get this picture from a friend online. Beautiful music, beautiful people and an amazing show!

What happens when you enjoy music too much (it’s never too much thought)… you get hungry!

I went to the food court… It was packed! I wasn’t the only one who was hungry and came up with the idea to grab something to eat. I ordered fried calamari and grilled salmon with bacon. These dishes were spot on! The calamari was super crunchy and fresh! As if it just arrived from the sea, was cleaned, marinated, thrown in a batter and fried… YUMMY! It came with a marinara sauce that completed this dish.

The grilled salmon with Bacon! Nothing goes wrong if you have bacon in it!!! And yup, they are so right! Adding the bacon to this dish is not the reason why it was so delicious. The salmon itself was marvelous. Seasoned well, grilled just right. The bacon on top and the black sesame seeds with it. The sauce that was underneath the fish was a creamy yoghurt sauce. They also added a salad consisting red onions and oranges.

Finishing my food fast… Lionel Richie was on his way to the stage! I can’t miss him…

The first year Lionel was on stage and had an amazing show. This year he came back, and he didn’t go under, his show was fantastic! As if you were listening to his cd’s or music on the radio. The sound was perfect… the atmosphere was good and of course the food made sure I could enjoy this show fully, because when you’re hungry… you can’t concentrate completely.
