Lunch at A La John
It has been a while since I’ve really enjoyed a meal that’s not totally heavy in your stomach, but will still your hunger for sure.
Starting with choosing between fresh juices or smoothies… the pommerak smoothie was the best choice for me, but it was a “challenge” to choose from the list that was offered. Each and every choice would have been utterly amazing.
For lunch,🍴 I ordered the rib eye steak with mushroom sauce. Initially, I wanted the port liver sauce, but I let the chef know that too late… 🙈 about right the moment the dish came out.
The order was perfect! A simple and beautiful dish – mashed potatoes and fresh veggie mix on the side.
– Mashed potatoes –
When every you order this nowadays, some restaurants give you the heavy stuff. Meaning it might have been made with potatoes that aren’t easily soft or easy to work with. I think it is one of the most important things… choose the ingredients that will make your meal excellent. This is exactly what A La John did. The right ingredient for the perfectly smooth and not too heavy mashed potatoes. It was light and super delicious.😋
– Rib Eye Steak –
Not a lot of words are needed to explain how good this piece of meat is! Medium, just like I ordered. Soft, not too much fat. Perfect! The Mushroom sauce was also a great combination, it added the extra oomph.
– fresh veggies –
Now… when you see veggies on the menu as a side dish, you think “oh well, it’ll be the frozen versions they always give and deceive us with”. But NO! Here… absolutely not! It is fresh as fresh can be. The stir-fried mix of veggies, that will make your mouth water.
I could have easily enjoyed another dish and then feel stuffed, because of the lightness this meal had. This was my first time here and it would not be the last.
