Resto & Winerbar Folga

Dinner at Resto & Winebar Folga in Krakow for tonight’s dinner. After an extensive day of discovering old town Krakow, visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mines, a tour through the impactful Auschwitz, walking through Rynek Gtowny (Main Square with a market in the main), beautiful churches as the St. Mary’s Basilica on the main square- which dates back to 1484 and was carved by German sculptor Veit Stoss, with lime-wood sculpted figures up to 2.7 meters high.
Until the present day the St. Mary’s Trumpet Call is played from the top of the taller two towers, on the hour every hour.

A 15 minutes’ walk from the Main square is restaurant Folga, we had read the reviews and were excited to try. A very hip and stylish designed restaurant with a “food sharing” dining concept. Serving fresh seafood, meats, and spices, and fresh ingredients.  We were everything but disappointed. The staff was very welcoming and helped start us off with a glass of champagne. Beautiful mint green and brown décor, an extensive bar, and colorful design plates, I have a weakness for plates.

For starters, we opted for Jerusalem artichoke & egg herbs and wege demi-glace, the Hasselback potatoes rosemary aioli, Pumpkin with gorgonzola topped off with parsley.  

Dessert was hands down the best on my list of desserts! The “Czarny las”: a chocolate mousse cake in the shape of a golden acorn, on a bed of crumbled chocolate, topped off with hot cherries.  I can’t even… It’s not only too beautiful to eat, but each bite was savory and a perfect combination. I’m tasting it again just writing this.

For sure this restaurant was worth the visit and for a nice evening out.

A 8/10 for us!
